Colorfactory sa so svojím albumom s bezmenným názvom, ktorí vydali na konci roku 1995, stali najväčším objavom minulého roka na českej scéne. V dnešnej dobe sa už len ťažko môžete presadiť bez spolupráce s inými médiami, a nie inak je to aj v prípade tejto skupiny. Filmové dielko Šeptej, hrali v ňom aj Čechtický a Muchow s Colorfactory, pomohlo albumu k novej reedícii s čiernobielym obalom a k ďalšej vlne záujmu. Hlavným leaderom bude, mne neznámy Colin Stuart, pravdepodobne jeden z mohých Anglosasov žijúcich v Prahe. Okrem textov a hudby sa podieľal aj na produkcii. Z ďalších známych osobností sa na projekte (hovorím schválne o projekte, pretože skupina nekoncertuje a pravdepodobne išlo iba o štúdiovú nahrávku) podieľali už spomínaní Jan Čechtický, Jan Muchow alebo Irna Libowitz. Muchowa poznáte určite z jeho pôsobenia v skupine Ecstasy of St. Theresa, jedinej českej skupine, ktorej sa podarilo presadiť na MTV prostredníctvom relácie 120 Seconds With Paul King. To boli zlaté časy.

Keďže česko-moravsko-sliezska scéna :-) je nám stále blízka, určite ju poznáme lepšie jako Češi našu, predsa sa nám už z objektívnych dôvodov nedarí zachytiť všetky nové tváre. Ak ste dosiaľ nepočuli žiaden zo singlov, vedzte, že ide o akustickú záležitosť so španielkami, perkusiami, podfarbené ľahkými zvukomalebnými klávesmi. Takáto hudba mala najväčší boom na prelome 80/90 rokov a aj vy ste sa vtedy určite odväzovali na britských kapelkách New Wave Of The New Wave, napríklad Pale Saints, Charlatans, či legendárny Stone Roses. Aj teraz ultrapopulárny Blur sa zviezli na svojej prvej platni v tomto romanticko-psychadelickom štýle. Na domácej scéne majú podobné cítenie Tichá dohoda alebo Maťkovia. A týmto sme dokončili nepopulárne škatuľkovanie. Colorfactory abstrahovali všetky tieto vplyvy, no vylúčili charakteristické skreslené elektrické gitary. Je prinajmenšom čudné, že dnes je takáto muzika považovaná za alternatívnu, keď je na neroznanie podobná v tom najlepšom slova zmysle podobná šesdesiatym rokom a najlepšiemu obdobiu dua Simon & Garfunkel. Neviem jako vy, ale ja som dosť melancholický a preto si rád vypočujem aj niečo popovejšie, no chlapčenské skupiny sú na mňa stále priveľa, či primálo? Colorfactory sú skupina do každého počasia, trochu zadumaný, trochu veselý, všetkého so správnou mierou.

Album začína v súčasnosti po niektorých hitparádach bežiacim singlom Gauguin. Je to po hudobnej stránke najprepracovanejšia skladba s krásnym zasneným ženským vokálom v refréne pesničky. Najvýraznejšia hitovka bola It´s Always You s filmu šeptej. Nasleduje pocitovka Behold a po nej momentálne moja najoblúbenjšia Street In Time. Candy Cane bude pravdepodobne asi o tých sladkých cukríkoch, čo ponúkajú niektorí ľudkovia pred školskými zariadeniami. Konečne prichádza aj pieseň v rýchlejšom tempe. Paris je sympatická teenegerská spomienka, páni muzikanti to inak svorne ťahajú ku Kristovmu veku. V podobnom stredne rýchlom tempe sa vlečie aj Kiss me a If You Knew, medzi ktoré sa vklínil najpomalší slaďáčik Sorry. Drift On Your Love bude niečo o tom ako sa rozpúšťate slasťou nad klamstvom. Posledný track mi neviem prečo vyvoláva len čisto názvom asociáciu na sepulturovský Kaiowas, posúďte sami - Kiajaroovah. Obsahuje klasické predlžovacie a naťahovacie postupy, snaha o mystiku a podobné blbôstky. To všetko v príjemnej 49 minútovej stopáži.

Album má aj niektoré tienisté stránky, či už neprimerane rozvláčny Kiajaroovah, ale hlavne mi nesedí opakovanie textov, niekedy aj 4 krát za sebou, možno ide o odriekavanie. Taktiež sa mi nezdá byť veľkou vizitkou textára, keď takmer v každej skladbe opakuje ´ja viem´, ´ty si to vedela´, ´vieme to obaja´. Mohol sa aj viac vyhecovať, keď už je to jeho rodný jazyk. No nič, pozitíva vysoko prevládajú, takže ak náhodou narazíte na Colorfaktory, neváhajte.
